The experience

Ten weeks of turning toward each other.

Even strong, loving couples drift into autopilot when life gets full. This class is a structured, goal-directed way to come back — ten weeks of building deeper attunement, one focused theme at a time, until turning toward each other feels natural again.

It's grounded in well-researched principles of what keeps relationships warm, connected, and lasting. Each week we focus on one of those principles, with daily prompts and playful activities that turn it into a felt habit. It's fun with a purpose — and by the end, most couples can feel the difference.

How it flows

Three live sessions, ten guided weeks

Step one
Guided beginning session · 75 min

We begin together on Zoom — a relaxed conversation where we name your goals, the kind of closeness you're hoping for, and what you'd love to see move over the ten weeks. This shapes everything that follows.

Step two
Weekly lessons & portal

Each week, a new principle opens in your private portal — with daily motivation, simple prompts, bite-sized education on connection, and playful activities for showing appreciation. The portal is two-way: you can share your wins and accomplishments as you go, and I stay engaged with you each week, responding and cheering you on. A small nudge toward each other every day.

Step three
Mid-point review · 60 min

Around the midway point — our reflection week — we meet again on Zoom for an hour to celebrate the movement you're already feeling, answer questions, and add a little extra guidance to finish strong.

Step four
Pre-repair check-in · 60 min

Before we move into the repair work, we meet once more on Zoom — a chance to settle any questions and arrive steady before that week. In all, we meet together three times — and if you'd like more at the end, you're always welcome to schedule another session.

A note on materials

This class draws heavily on Gottman's research-backed education on what makes relationships last, built on top of my own 20 years of clinical experience — with additional guides and information I'm continuing to add as the program grows.

If you'd like a physical companion to keep, the official Seven Principles Couples Set from The Gottman Institute is a wonderful optional add-on for the two of you.

The curriculum

One principle a week

Each week builds on the last — a focused theme, taught through daily portal lessons and activities, so attunement grows steadily across the ten weeks.

Week one
Knowing Your Person

Refreshing your inner map of each other — the hopes, worries, history, and everyday details that make your partner who they are right now. Closeness starts with truly knowing.

Week two
Fondness & Admiration

Actively noticing and naming what you respect, cherish, and find lovely in each other — and saying it out loud. The heart of gratitude in a relationship.

Week three
Turning Toward & Speaking with Care

Catching the small, everyday bids for attention and affection and choosing to answer them, while building the everyday habit of sharing what you feel and need with warmth and truly listening in return.

Week four
Dialogue & Difference, Part One

Building the self-awareness that makes healthy dialogue possible — noticing your own reactivity in the moment a difference arises, so you can respond from steadiness instead of reflex.

Week five
Dialogue & Difference, Part Two

Practicing a structured way of engaging a real difference together — each of you fully expressing your view and taking in the other's, treating disagreement as a resource for wisdom rather than a threat.

Week six
Dialogue & Difference, Part Three

Deepening the practice — welcoming your partner's differing view without losing your own footing, so being two distinct people becomes a source of richness rather than distance.

Week seven
Reflection Week

A built-in pause — no new material, just time to let everything so far settle in and simmer. Questions tend to surface here, so this is a good week to bring them to me. I'll send journal questions, mindfulness meditations, and noticing practices to sit with instead of new lessons.

Week eight
Inner Compassion Listening

Turning inward first — noticing and holding your own feelings with compassion before you try to listen to your partner. The more at home you are with what's happening inside you, the more presence you have to offer each other.

Week nine
Repair After Rupture

Learning to recognize and make repair attempts after the small, everyday moments of distance or disconnect — using everything built so far, from compassionate listening to noticing your own triggered parts, to find your way back to each other with more understanding than before.

Week ten
Letting Each Other In & Keeping the Spark

Honoring each other's perspective and letting yourselves be influenced, then weaving all ten weeks into habits you can keep. Celebrating how far you've come and carrying your closeness forward.

Weekly themes may be tailored to fit each couple's goals and what you most want to grow.

Questions along the way

Week-by-week FAQ

Week 1 — What if we feel like we already know each other well?

Even long-together couples find surprises here — people change, and this week is about refreshing your map of who your partner is right now, not starting from zero.

Week 2 — What if noticing and naming appreciation feels awkward at first?

That's normal, and it eases quickly. The daily prompts make it a small, low-pressure habit rather than a grand gesture.

Week 3 — We already communicate well — is this still useful?

Yes — this week sharpens the everyday moments of catching bids for attention and speaking with care, which even strong communicators benefit from practicing on purpose.

Weeks 4–6 — Will the dialogue and difference weeks bring up old arguments?

They're built around real differences, so something familiar may surface — but the focus stays on the skill of engaging it with curiosity, not on relitigating past conflict. If something bigger comes up, we'll talk about it.

Week 7 — What happens if a question comes up during the reflection week?

Bring it right to our mid-point review session that week — this pause is designed for exactly that, plus letting the first six weeks settle in through journaling and mindfulness practices.

Week 8 — Is inner compassion listening a form of therapy?

No — it's a focusing-oriented practice for noticing and holding your own feelings before you listen outward. It builds personal presence, not a therapeutic process.

Week 9 — We don't really argue — what does this week look like for us?

Most couples in this class rarely fight, so we won't be dissecting a real blow-up. Instead, we work with the small, everyday moments — a short spell of distance, a misread tone, an off day — and practice recognizing and making a repair attempt before it grows into anything. You leave with the skill on hand, ready for whenever a bigger moment does come along.

Week 10 — What happens after the ten weeks end?

You'll keep your portal library of principles and practices, and you're always welcome to schedule an additional session if you'd like more support finishing strong.

Finding the right fit

This is for you if…

You're a securely-connected couple who wants to spice things up and have fun together.

Life is busy — careers, kids, schedules — and you want structure to find your way back to each other.

You've slipped out of the habit of connection and want to intentionally rebuild a daily rhythm of appreciation.

You're a newer couple wanting to start a strong, loving habit together early.

You're engaged or premarital and want to learn basic connection and communication skills — a wonderful fit.

You're curious, open, and both genuinely want to play, grow, and feel closer.

This isn't the right fit if…

·

You're in active conflict or facing real communication breakdowns.

·

There's unresolved betrayal, resentment, or you're considering separation.

·

You're hoping this will fix or repair a relationship that's struggling.

·

You're looking for couples counseling, mediation, or conflict resolution.

·

One partner feels unheard, reluctant, or is joining only to appease the other.

If any of these ring true, that's okay — a different kind of support would simply serve you better right now, and I'm glad to point you in a good direction.

An important distinction

This is enrichment — not couples counseling.

I want to be very clear and very careful here, because it matters. I do not offer traditional couples counseling, and this class is in no way conflict management or therapy. It's designed only for healthy, securely-connected couples who simply want to add more fun, love, and attunement to an already-good relationship.

If a couple is struggling with real conflict, communication breakdowns, betrayal, or the feeling that they genuinely need counseling, this experience is not for you — and it could do more harm than good. Practicing gratitude on top of unresolved hurt can quietly breed resentment rather than connection. Please honor where you are.

If that's where you find yourselves, I'd lovingly point you toward individual inner work first, and a qualified couples therapist for the relationship itself.

Why I believe in inner work first

Before any couple does deeper relationship work, I strongly believe each partner benefits from their own shadow work. Shadow work is the personal practice of turning toward the parts of ourselves we tend to hide, deny, or project onto our partner — old wounds, reflexes, and patterns that get triggered in closeness.

When each person takes responsibility for their own inner world first, there's far more safety, self-awareness, and steadiness to build on together. This class isn't that work — it's lighter and joyful by design — but I name it because it's foundational, and because the right order matters.

The ten-week experience

One couple at a time, so the whole experience is personal: three live sessions together (a 75-minute guided beginning session, a 60-minute mid-point review, and a 60-minute pre-repair check-in), ten weekly themed lessons — including a built-in reflection week — daily portal content and activities, and a library of principles to keep — for the two of you.
